BEFORE YOUR CHILD’S ADMISSION
Whether your child’s stay at Cedarcrest Center is a short-term or an extended one, we recognize that the time leading up to admission can be challenging and stressful for you and your family. Our social worker is available to help with your plans, to provide emotional support, to assist with admission paperwork, and to help you connect with community resources you may need. We are also available to spend time with you and your child prior to admission, and can travel to you if your child is hospitalized or unable to travel.
DURING YOUR CHILD’S STAY
We encourage you and your family members to visit your child whenever you like. Our social worker is on hand to help facilitate connections with staff members, to ensure that you are well-informed about your child’s experience here, and to help you find constructive and meaningful ways to remain involved during your child’s stay. Our social worker can also assist you to arrange visits home for weekends and holidays.
AS YOUR CHILD TRANSITIONS FROM CEDARCREST
As you prepare for your child to transition home or to another setting, our social worker will collaborate with you to arrange appropriate programs and services. She can also help by connecting you with specialized caregiver training related to your child’s specific needs.
Our goal at every phase of your child’s stay with us is to provide care that best meets your child’s medical and developmental needs and support that enables your family to participate in your child’s care as fully as possible.
